About Grimaldi's Pizzeria Garden City

Pizza from a coal-fired oven and fine Italian eating in the heart of Garden City, NY.

Located at 980 Franklin Ave, Garden City, NY 11530, Grimaldi's Pizzeria Garden City operates as a pizza restaurant serving Garden City in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as caterer, pizza takeout, restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. Typical hours are 11:30 AMโ€“9 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Garden City is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Garden City is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

It was welcoming atmosphere in the beginning. The person that took my order disappeared. I wasn't able to find the person. I had to ask someone else for the check. Outside of this, they have beautiful oven and the pizza was great.

Terrible customer service by their manager Andrea and mediocre pizza. Donโ€™t waste your time coming here for rude service and mediocre expensive pizza. Ordered two pizzas over the phone. I asked for 1 18inch margarita pie and one 18inch regular pie with 1/2 pepperoni. Came out to $58 dollars. I received two margarita pies with half pepperoni on one. Both with extremely light sauce. I usually would expect some tomato sauce little chunks of tomato in the sauce. Nope. I called to complain and was met with Andrea their manager. Explained my dissatisfaction and was given no solution. If anything she just gave excuses and debated back with me. That their โ€œregular pieโ€ is a margarita and that they donโ€™t serve Neapolitan pizza. I asked why the person on the phone didnโ€™t clarify that for me when I asked for a margarita and a โ€œregular pieโ€. She said that the woman was โ€œbrand newโ€ and that they didnโ€™t have the time to list off types of pizzas they offer and that they donโ€™t even serve Neapolitan style pizza. Place was basically empty when I picked up the food. She asked me to email her photos and if there is light sauce that sheโ€™ll let the kitchen know of any mistake of measuring of the pizza

It had been quite a while since my last visit to Grimaldiโ€™s Pizzeria in Garden City, so I decided to stop by again for a nostalgic slice. I went in around 4:00 PM on a weekday, and the place was almost empty, just one table occupied and a couple of guests at the bar. I mentioned I was dining alone, and the staff invited me to sit anywhere I liked. That warm, welcoming attitude hasn't changed, and it was a pleasant surprise to recognize some of the same servers from years ago. It's always a good sign when a place retains its staff over the years. I ordered a large pie with Cajun chicken. I used to love their Cajun shrimp pizza, which unfortunately is no longer on the menu, something I hope they consider bringing back. The pizza arrived in under 15 minutes, which was great. It looked exactly how I remembered itโ€”thin, coal-fired, and generously portioned. However, the taste was slightly off from what I recall. The crust was slightly overcooked (not enough to send it back, though), and the Cajun chicken was too salty and lacked the spiciness I expected. It felt like something was missing, maybe a flavor or seasoning that made it more memorable in the past. That said, the service rema

This restaurant provides an old-school Italian vibe. The restaurant has two convenient entrances: one on Franklin Street and another in the back, where youโ€™ll find ample parking. The layout inside provides plenty of seating options, making it a great choice for groups or larger parties. For those looking to enjoy a meal while catching a game, the bar area is a perfect spot to watch sports. The atmosphere is ideal for families, friends, or even a romantic dinner. Itโ€™s definitely a place you could visit for a special occasion, like a birthday or an evening out after an event. The food selection is abundant. The Caesar salad comes with a side of dressing, though itโ€™s so well-prepared that the dressing might not even be necessary. The personal pizzas offer a wide variety of toppings, all of which are flavorful and filling. My favorite was the olives. Thereโ€™s no shortage of options to satisfy different tastes, and the pizzas are perfectly sized for one person. While the food is great, one area for improvement is the bathroom situation. With a restaurant this size, having single-occupancy bathrooms can be a bit inconvenient, especially during busier times. It would be nice if there we
